This 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 came in after a battery explosion caused an engine‑bay fire. Damage included the engine wiring harness, chassis harness, fuse box, cooling components, and exterior trims.

All affected wiring was diagnosed, repaired, and restored using OEM‑spec parts. After full system checks, the truck is back on the road and running perfectly.

Battery Tip: Never pair a new battery with an old one in a 12V parallel setup. Voltage imbalance and internal resistance differences can cause overheating, alternator strain, electrical faults — and in worst cases, fire.

Front-End Impact Restoration

This 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 underwent a complete restoration following a front-end impact that resulted in deployment of all front airbags and seatbelt retractors, along with damage to the front lighting system and surrounding trims.

A comprehensive diagnostic process identified unstable fuel pressure caused by a faulty fuel pump. During the replacement process, contamination was also found within the pump reservoir, contributing to the issue.

The fuel system was thoroughly cleaned to remove debris, and a new fuel pump was installed to restore proper pressure and performance.

Following the repair, the vehicle was tested and verified, with normal fuel delivery restored. The truck is now running smoothly with reliable performance.

Electronic Suspension System Diagnosis & Repair

This 2024 GMC Yukon was presented with a service suspension warning, affecting ride quality and system performance.

A comprehensive diagnostic process identified a faulty electronic suspension vertical accelerometer as the root cause. The component was replaced, restoring accurate system feedback and proper suspension operation.

Engine Fault Diagnosis & Infotainment Repair

This 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was presented with engine warning messages and was operating in limp mode, affecting overall performance and drivability.

A detailed diagnostic process identified the fault as a failed NOx Sensor 2. The sensor was replaced, restoring proper emission system operation and returning the vehicle to full performance.

In addition, a faulty radio touchscreen digitizer—commonly seen on 2015–2019 models—was replaced, restoring full infotainment functionality.

Through a detailed diagnostic process, the issue was traced to a faulty exhaust temperature sensor affecting system performance and emissions control.

To further optimise the vehicle, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Transmission Control Module (TCM) were updated to the latest calibration levels, enhancing overall performance and towing capability.

The infotainment system was also updated to radio software version 171, resolving known bugs and improving system stability and usability.

Additional faults related to the right-hand-drive conversion were identified and rectified, ensuring all systems operate correctly and communicate as intended.

Multi-System Electrical Repair & Restoration

This 2018 GMC 2500 underwent a comprehensive electrical and system restoration to address multiple service alerts affecting key vehicle functions, including 4WD, power steering, airbag, and ABS systems.

A detailed diagnostic process identified several underlying issues. Water ingress had caused failure of the 4WD actuator and connector, which were replaced to restore proper drivetrain operation. The NV8 power steering system wiring harness was also found to be damaged and was professionally repaired.

This 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was brought in with the engine warning lamp illuminated due to evaporative emission system performance issues.

A comprehensive diagnostic process identified a restricted EVAP vent filter as the root cause. The system was repaired and upgraded in line with the latest GM service bulletin, including replacement of the updated EVAP components.

To improve durability and prevent recurrence, the vent system was also relocated to a more protected position, reducing the risk of blockage from mud and debris.

LED Light Bar Installation

Installed a Hella Black Magic LED light bar on this 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, delivering a high-performance lighting upgrade with a 9000-lumen output for significantly improved night-time visibility and driving safety.

The installation was completed using a slim, stealth mounting approach, ensuring a clean factory-style appearance without compromising the vehicle’s design. Importantly, no modifications were made to the active grille shutters, preserving proper airflow and cooling system performance.

This setup provides powerful illumination while maintaining full functionality of the vehicle’s systems, offering a reliable and well-integrated solution for both on-road and off-road use.

Glow Plug System Diagnosis & Repair

Diagnosed a glow plug system fault on this 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, which was causing internal control errors and affecting engine performance.

Through detailed testing, the issue was traced to a faulty glow plug control module. The module was replaced, and the system was reprogrammed with the latest software updates to ensure proper operation and reliability.

HVAC System Repair & Rodent Damage Rectification

Audio, Electrical & A/C System Upgrade

Upgraded this 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a modern infotainment and electrical refresh, bringing new functionality while retaining factory integration.

A Kenwood wireless Apple CarPlay head unit was professionally installed, seamlessly integrated with the factory Bose sound system, including the original subwoofer, speakers, and steering wheel controls—delivering enhanced usability without compromising OEM features.

In addition, the vehicle’s air conditioning system was diagnosed, with leaking charging port valves replaced and the system recharged to restore proper cooling performance.

To ensure reliability, a failing battery (over 7 years old) was identified and replaced, completing a full system refresh for dependable everyday use.

LBZ Duramax V8 Conversion Wiring Rectification

It was a great pleasure to be part of Pete’s 1971 Holden Kingswood wagon project – featuring an LBZ Duramax V8 turbo diesel conversion.
We diagnosed issues with the wiring in the engine conversion kit supplied from the USA. Several critical sensors including the MAP, MAF and fuel rail pressure sensor were pinned the wrong way around.
All wiring was corrected and sorted back to the proper configuration, ensuring everything now operates as it should.

GMC Sierra AT4 2500 Towing & Electrical System Upgrade

This 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 2500 received a comprehensive upgrade to improve towing capability and overall electrical functionality, tailored specifically for Australian use.

The TPMS system was recalibrated with the low-pressure warning threshold adjusted to 30 PSI, ensuring accurate monitoring suited to local driving and load conditions. A full US-to-AU trailering system conversion was also completed, including the installation of an updated converter module. This upgrade now supports trailer anti-theft functionality, restoring and enhancing OEM-level features often affected during RHD conversions.

To further support towing and accessory use, a dual Anderson plug setup was installed, providing both a constant B+ supply and an ignition-controlled feed. This allows for reliable power delivery to trailers, auxiliary batteries, and other connected equipment.

PCM, TCM & ABS Software Updates

Completed comprehensive software updates on two 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD vehicles, ensuring all critical control systems are operating at the latest factory and aftermarket standards.

This included updating key modules such as the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Steering Control Module. In addition, Banks iDash and Derringer systems were updated to their latest firmware versions to maintain full compatibility and optimal performance.

These updates are essential for maintaining system reliability, improving drivability, and ensuring all modules communicate correctly within the vehicle’s network. Keeping software up to date also helps prevent known faults, enhances performance, and supports the integration of aftermarket upgrades.

All work was carried out with precision, using correct procedures to ensure safe and seamless operation across all systems.

Water Ingress Repair & Interior Restoration

This 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 was presented with significant water ingress into the cabin, resulting in soaked carpets and interior damage caused by prolonged exposure to moisture and contaminants.

Our inspection identified water entering through the driver-side firewall due to an improperly sealed brake booster RHD bracing bracket — a common issue in converted vehicles when sealing is not completed to OEM standards.

The issue was professionally rectified by correctly resealing the firewall entry point, ensuring long-term protection against further water intrusion.

Following the repair, the damaged interior components were removed and replaced. The flooring was upgraded with Car Builders Stage 1 sound deadening material to improve cabin insulation and overall comfort, followed by installation of brand new carpets to restore the interior to a high-quality finish.

OEM 230V Inverter Upgrade

Completed a full upgrade and activation of the factory DC/AC inverter system on a 2024 GMC Silverado, converting the original 110V setup to 230V for Australian use.

During right-hand-drive conversions, the factory 110V inverter is commonly removed or disabled. In many cases, some other conversion providers retain the original system with US-type or modified outlets, which are not practical for Australian conditions.

This upgrade restores the system back to full OEM functionality using the correct components, wiring architecture, and safety integration — delivering a factory-standard solution tailored for Australia.
